Why connect HubSpot to VS Code (GitHub Copilot)?
Copilot's agent mode can call MCP tools inside your workspace, so it can read live numbers while it edits code and docs. Connected through Lemonado, it reads your HubSpot contacts, deals, companies and lifecycle stages, so it can see where leads stall in the funnel with today's numbers.
All your HubSpot data
Contacts and their original source, ready to ask about.
Always today's numbers
Deals, pipelines, stages and amounts, synced from HubSpot automatically, so answers use today's numbers.
Connect all your tools
Questions like "What does a deal cost?" use HubSpot and LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads at once.
How to connect HubSpot to VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Before you start
- A HubSpot account you can sign in to
- VS Code installed
- A Lemonado account (the free trial works)
- 1
Connect HubSpot in Lemonado
In Lemonado, open Connectors, find HubSpot and sign in. Sign in with a HubSpot user that can see contacts and deals, then pick the account if you have more than one.
- 2
Turn on external access
In the company's settings, open External tools, turn the connection on, choose which sources it can reach and copy the server URL.
texthttps://mcp.lemonado.io/mcp - 3
Add the server
With AI features on and a project open, run MCP: Add Server from the command palette. Choose HTTP, paste the server URL and name it lemonado.
texthttps://mcp.lemonado.io/mcp - 4
Choose where it lives
For your personal Copilot setup, choose Global → Copilot Global. That writes to ~/.copilot/mcp-config.json unless COPILOT_HOME says otherwise.
- 5
Trust and sign in
Accept the trust prompt and sign in to Lemonado. Turn the tools on under Chat: Open Customizations → Tools.
- 6
Ask VS Code (GitHub Copilot) about HubSpot
Try "Update the table in docs/kpis.md with last month's HubSpot numbers and add one line on what changed." Or ask: "What did each source bring in?" or "How long does each stage take?"
Good to know
- The older .vscode/mcp.json format still works for the local harness, but VS Code now marks that destination as deprecated. It uses a servers key with type http and the same URL.
What can VS Code (GitHub Copilot) do with HubSpot?
Copilot reads your HubSpot data in agent mode and works the numbers into your code, docs and notebooks in the workspace you have open.
Update the table in docs/kpis.md with last month's HubSpot numbers and add one line on what changed.
Updated docs/kpis.md with last month's numbers next to the month before, plus a line on the biggest change and its cause.

Write and run the SQL for average days between lifecycle stages by original source, and save it as queries/stage_timing.sql.

Check the hidden UTM fields in our signup form code against the HubSpot contact properties they should fill. Which ones arrive empty?
utm_content is sent as utm-content in forms/signup.tsx, so the HubSpot property stays empty on 100% of contacts since August.

Which original sources brought the most closed-won revenue this quarter, not just the most contacts?
Paid search brought 38% of contacts but 21% of closed-won revenue. Organic search brought 14% of contacts and 33% of revenue.

Where in the funnel do our MQLs stall? Show conversion and average days at each stage.
MQL to SQL is the weak step: 18% convert, and the ones that do take 11 days. SQL to closed-won is healthy at 31%.

Yes. HubSpot's official MCP server is hosted, so VS Code can use it too. It covers HubSpot only. Lemonado covers HubSpot plus your ad platforms, GA4 and the rest of your stack in one connection, so VS Code can answer questions across them.
Run MCP: List Servers from the command palette. If lemonado isn't running, start it there, accept the trust prompt and sign in. In Lemonado, check that HubSpot is connected and External tools is on for the company. If deals or contacts are missing, check your HubSpot user's permissions. HubSpot only shares records that user can view.
Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads spend next to HubSpot deals created and won, by campaign, last quarter."
MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
