Ask Claude Code about Semrush
Ask a question about the accounts your connection can reach. Claude Code can also write the numbers into a file or a script for you. Try "For our 20 pages with the most Semrush keywords at positions 4 to 15, check whether the title and H1 in the code use the main keyword. List the ones that don't." Or ask: "Are two pages competing?" or "Can you write the briefs?"
Good to know
- The command uses Claude Code's default local scope. Use --scope user to share the server across projects.
What can Claude Code do with Semrush?
Claude Code queries your Semrush data while it works in your repo: it saves data as files, checks tracking against code and runs headless with claude -p.
For our 20 pages with the most Semrush keywords at positions 4 to 15, check whether the title and H1 in the code use the main keyword. List the ones that don't.
7 of 20 miss it. guides/sleeping-bags.mdx targets "sleeping bag guide" but the title says "Everything about bags".

Find keywords where two of our URLs swap places in Semrush, and show the two files in our repo for each.
6 keywords. "tent footprint" switches between blog/footprints.mdx and guides/tent-accessories.mdx; the guide should own it and the blog post link to it.

Pull the top keyword gap topic from Semrush and write a brief for each new page into content/briefs/, with keywords and headings.
Wrote 4 briefs in content/briefs/ for tent care: main keyword, 8 to 12 related keywords and an outline for each.

Write a prompt file that pulls ranking changes from Semrush for the last 30 days and saves reports/seo-monthly.md.
Saved prompts/seo-monthly.md. Run it with claude -p on the 1st and it writes the month's ranking report.

Which of our keywords sit at positions 11 to 20 with over 1,000 searches a month?
23 keywords. Nine of them point to the same sleeping bag guide, so one update to that page could lift most of them.
Source: Semrush
Google Ads keywords with spend last month next to our Semrush position for the same keyword.
We spent $3,400 on 19 keywords where we already rank in the top 3 organically. Brand terms are $2,100 of that.
