Why connect Meta Ads to VS Code (GitHub Copilot)?

Copilot's agent mode can call MCP tools inside your workspace, so it can read live numbers while it edits code and docs. Connected through Lemonado, it reads your Meta Ads ad sets, creatives, frequency and ROAS, so it can see which hooks keep viewers watching with today's numbers.

  • Your whole Meta Ads account

Campaigns, ad sets and ads, ready to ask about.

  • Always today's numbers

Spend, reach, frequency, CTR and CPM, synced from Meta Ads automatically, so answers use today's numbers.

  • Connect all your tools

Questions like "Do Meta and GA4 agree?" use Meta Ads and Google Ads, TikTok Ads at once.

Accept the trust prompt and sign in to Lemonado. Turn the tools on under Chat: Open Customizations → Tools.

  6. 6

Ask VS Code (GitHub Copilot) about Meta Ads

Try "Update the table in docs/kpis.md with last month's Meta Ads numbers and add one line on what changed." Or ask: "How did each ad perform?" or "When does each ad wear out?"

Good to know

  • The older .vscode/mcp.json format still works for the local harness, but VS Code now marks that destination as deprecated. It uses a servers key with type http and the same URL.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, through Lemonado. Connect your Meta ad account in Lemonado, add Lemonado with MCP: Add Server in VS Code, and VS Code can see which hooks keep viewers watching with your live data.

Yes. Meta's official Ads MCP server is hosted, so VS Code can use it too. It covers Meta only. Lemonado covers Meta plus Google Ads, GA4 and TikTok in one connection, so VS Code can compare channels in one question.

Run MCP: List Servers from the command palette. If lemonado isn't running, start it there, accept the trust prompt and sign in. In Lemonado, check that Meta Ads is connected and External tools is on for the company. If an ad account is missing, check that your Facebook user has access to it in Business settings, then reconnect Meta Ads in Lemonado.

Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Compare Meta's reported purchases with GA4 purchases from paid social for the last 30 days."

MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
