Why connect Google Ads to ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can't open your Google Ads account by itself, so most people paste exports into it. With Lemonado it reads campaigns, search terms and budgets live, so the weekly update and the CPA questions come from today's numbers, not last week's CSV.

  • Your whole Google Ads account

Campaigns, ad groups, ads and assets, ready to ask about.

  • Always today's numbers

Performance Max asset groups, synced from Google Ads automatically, so answers use today's numbers.

  • Connect all your tools

Questions like "What's our real ROAS?" use Google Ads and Meta Ads, GA4 at once.

Good to know

  • Your ChatGPT account and workspace settings decide whether you can add custom MCP servers. Workspace admins can turn it off.
  • Older guides point to Settings → Apps → Developer mode. OpenAI has replaced that flow with Plugins.

CPA rose from $38 to $46. Most of it came from Generic Tents, where a broad match keyword started matching "tent repair" searches on Tuesday.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Once Lemonado is installed as a plugin, pick it with @ in a chat and ChatGPT queries your live Google Ads data directly. There's nothing to download or upload, and the numbers match what Google Ads shows today.

Not easily. Google publishes an open-source Google Ads MCP server (googleads/google-ads-mcp on GitHub). It's free and read-only, but it runs locally or on your own Cloud Run and needs a Google Cloud project with OAuth credentials. ChatGPT needs a remote server, so you'd have to host it yourself. Lemonado is already hosted: add one URL and sign in.

Check that Lemonado is installed at chatgpt.com/plugins, then pick it with @ in a new chat. Workspace admins can turn custom plugins off. In Lemonado, check that Google Ads is connected and External tools is on for the company. If you sign in with a manager (MCC) account, ask about a client account by name: the data sits in the client accounts, not the manager.

Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Put Google Ads spend next to Stripe revenue by week for the last quarter."

Use one MCP server that reaches both. Google and Meta each publish their own server, but each covers one platform, and Google's runs locally. Lemonado connects Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4 and 3,000+ other tools through one URL that works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients, so you can compare channels in one question.

MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
