Connect
Amplitude to
Claude Code
- Does the code match the tracking plan?
https://mcp.lemonado.io/mcpUse Claude Code to check your tracking plan against the events Amplitude actually receives, and fix the code that sends them. Lemonado connects them in about 1 minute, no API keys needed.
https://mcp.lemonado.io/mcpWhy connect Amplitude to Claude Code?
Tracking drifts: an event gets renamed in one component, a property stops being sent after a refactor. Claude Code reads the code that calls track(), and through Lemonado it can see what Amplitude received, so the gaps between plan, code and data show up in one pass.
All your Amplitude data

Always today's numbers
Cohorts and their sizes over time, synced from Amplitude automatically, so answers use today's numbers.

How to connect Amplitude to Claude Code
Before you start
- A Amplitude account you can sign in to
- Claude Code installed
- A Lemonado account (the free trial works)
- 1
Connect Amplitude in Lemonado
In Lemonado, open Connectors, find Amplitude and sign in. Connect the Amplitude project you report from, not a dev or staging project. If your org is on Amplitude's EU data center, choose EU when you connect.
- 2
Turn on external access
In the company's settings, open External tools, turn the connection on, choose which sources it can reach and copy the server URL.
texthttps://mcp.lemonado.io/mcp - 3
Add the server
With Claude Code installed, run one of these in your terminal. Most people want the first: it adds Lemonado to every project.
bash# every project (recommended) claude mcp add --scope user --transport http lemonado https://mcp.lemonado.io/mcp # this project only claude mcp add --transport http lemonado https://mcp.lemonado.io/mcp - 4
Sign in
Start Claude Code with claude and run /mcp. Choose Lemonado and finish the sign-in in your browser.
bashclaude /mcp - 5
Ask Claude Code about Amplitude
Ask a question about the accounts your connection can reach. Claude Code can also write the numbers into a file or a script for you. Try "Compare our tracking plan in docs/tracking-plan.yaml with the track() calls in the repo and with events Amplitude received in the last 14 days." Or ask: "Which properties went missing?" or "Save a retention script"
Good to know
- The command uses Claude Code's default local scope. Use --scope user to share the server across projects.
What can Claude Code do with Amplitude?
Claude Code queries your Amplitude data while it works in your repo: it saves data as files, checks tracking against code and runs headless with claude -p.
Compare our tracking plan in docs/tracking-plan.yaml with the track() calls in the repo and with events Amplitude received in the last 14 days.
The plan lists 42 events. The code sends 45, 4 of which aren't in the plan. Amplitude received 39: report_shared and 2 others are sent from a component that never renders.

For our 10 key events, check which properties were sent on less than 90% of events last week, and find where they're set in code.
plan_type is missing on 31% of dashboard_created events. It's read from a context that isn't loaded yet on the first page after signup.

Write scripts/retention_by_campaign.py that pulls signups from Amplitude with first-touch UTMs and joins them with ad spend by campaign.
Saved and run for September: 23 campaigns, cost per retained user from $48 to $210.

Create a prompt file for claude -p that writes reports/activation.md with weekly activation by channel.
Saved prompts/activation.md. Each run pulls fresh Amplitude data and rewrites the file.

Compare week 2 retention for users who signed up after the pricing change on Oct 1 with those who signed up in September.
Week 2 retention rose from 38% to 44% after the change. Annual plan signups doubled, which explains most of it.

Week 4 retention by first-touch campaign for users who signed up last month, next to what each campaign cost.
The LinkedIn webinar campaign cost $62 per signup and kept 47% at week 4. A Meta lookalike cost $14 per signup but kept only 11%.

Frequently Asked Questions
Amplitude's server is great for working on charts, events and experiments inside Amplitude. Lemonado adds what Amplitude doesn't have: ad spend from Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn, and your CRM. Use both if you want Claude Code to edit Amplitude and to answer cost questions.
Yes. Amplitude's MCP server is hosted, so Claude Code can use it too. It covers Amplitude only. Lemonado covers Amplitude plus your ad platforms, GA4 and the rest of your stack in one connection, so Claude Code can answer questions across them.
Run claude mcp list to see whether lemonado is connected. If it needs authentication, run /mcp inside Claude Code and sign in again. In Lemonado, check that Amplitude is connected and External tools is on for the company. If events look empty, check the data center (US or EU) and that you connected the production project.
Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Compare Google Ads conversions for sign_up last week with sign_up events in Amplitude that carry a gclid."
MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
