Why connect Ahrefs to ChatGPT?

Ahrefs data usually reaches ChatGPT as a pasted export. With Lemonado, ChatGPT reads backlinks, organic keywords and top pages live, and can put Search Console clicks next to them, so the summary uses this month's numbers.

  • All your Ahrefs data

Backlinks, new and lost, ready to ask about.

  • Always today's numbers

Organic keywords and positions, synced from Ahrefs automatically, so answers use today's numbers.

  • Connect all your tools

Questions like "Do estimates match real clicks?" use Ahrefs and Search Console, Semrush at once.

How to connect Ahrefs to ChatGPT

Good to know

  • Your ChatGPT account and workspace settings decide whether you can add custom MCP servers. Workspace admins can turn it off.
  • Older guides point to Settings → Apps → Developer mode. OpenAI has replaced that flow with Plugins.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Ahrefs has its own MCP server, and Lemonado installs as a ChatGPT plugin that reads Ahrefs next to Search Console and GA4. Either way you need a paid Ahrefs plan with API access; free and trial accounts can't connect.

Yes. Ahrefs' official MCP server is hosted, so ChatGPT can use it too. It covers Ahrefs only. Lemonado covers Ahrefs plus your ad platforms, GA4 and the rest of your stack in one connection, so ChatGPT can answer questions across them.

Check that Lemonado is installed at chatgpt.com/plugins, then pick it with @ in a new chat. Workspace admins can turn custom plugins off. In Lemonado, check that Ahrefs is connected and External tools is on for the company. If Ahrefs returns nothing, check that your plan includes API access and has units left. Each request uses some.

Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Our top Ahrefs pages by organic traffic next to GA4 conversions from organic search on the same pages."

MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
