Why connect PostHog to Codex?
Codex runs in your terminal, its IDE extension and scripts, so what it finds once can be rerun with codex exec instead of redone by hand. Connected through Lemonado, it reads your PostHog events, funnels, persons and insights, so it can check signups against ad clicks with today's numbers.
All your PostHog data
Events, pageviews and their properties, ready to ask about.
Always today's numbers
Persons with UTM and referrer properties, synced from PostHog automatically, so answers use today's numbers.
Connect all your tools
Questions like "What does an activated user cost?" use PostHog and Mixpanel, GA4 at once.

Ask Codex about PostHog
Run codex mcp list, or /mcp inside Codex, to see the server and its tools. Try "Pull last week's PostHog numbers, save them to data/posthog-weekly.csv and give me the codex exec command to refresh it." Or ask: "Which events never fire?" or "Do UTMs survive redirects?"
What can Codex do with PostHog?
Codex reads your PostHog data from your terminal and turns one-off questions into commands you can rerun with codex exec.
Pull last week's PostHog numbers, save them to data/posthog-weekly.csv and give me the codex exec command to refresh it.
Saved data/posthog-weekly.csv. Run the same prompt with codex exec in a scheduled job and the file refreshes with each week's numbers.

List every capture() call in our code and compare it with events PostHog received in the last 14 days.
4 of 52 never fire. Two sit behind a flag that's off, and two are on a settings page nobody opened.

Trace utm_source from our landing pages to the signup event in the code, and count PostHog signups last week with no source.
The OAuth callback drops the query string, so 41% of signups last week have no source. Fixed by storing UTMs in a cookie before the redirect.

Save last quarter's PostHog landing page to signup to activation funnel by week and source to data/posthog_funnel.csv.
Saved 13 weeks by 6 sources. Paid search activation dipped in weeks 8 to 10 while other sources held.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. PostHog's official MCP server is hosted, so Codex can use it too. It covers PostHog only. Lemonado covers PostHog plus your ad platforms, GA4 and the rest of your stack in one connection, so Codex can answer questions across them.
Run codex mcp list. If lemonado shows as not logged in, run codex mcp login lemonado again. In Lemonado, check that PostHog is connected and External tools is on for the company. If sources are missing, check that your site keeps UTM parameters through redirects. PostHog can only record the source it sees on the first page.
Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Divide last month's spend on Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn by the PostHog users each one sent who completed onboarding."
MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
