Connect Mixpanel to n8n

  • Can it run every morning?

Build n8n workflows that use your Mixpanel data to find where onboarding loses people on a schedule, and post the result where your team works. Lemonado connects them in about 5 minutes with one Lemonado token.

Why connect Mixpanel to n8n?

n8n runs on triggers and schedules, so a question you ask once can become a check that runs every morning. Connected through Lemonado, it reads your Mixpanel events, funnels, retention and cohorts, so it can find where onboarding loses people with today's numbers.

  • All your Mixpanel data

Every event you track, with its properties, ready to ask about.

  • Always today's numbers

Retention by signup week, synced from Mixpanel automatically, so answers use today's numbers.

  • Connect all your tools

Questions like "Which channel brings active users?" use Mixpanel and PostHog, GA4 at once.

How to connect Mixpanel to n8n

Before you start

  • A Mixpanel account you can sign in to
  • n8n installed
  • A Lemonado account (the free trial works)
  1. 1

    Connect Mixpanel in Lemonado

In Lemonado, open Connectors, find Mixpanel and sign in. Sign in to Mixpanel and pick the project. If your data lives in the EU or India region, pick that project, not a US one.

  2. 2

    Turn on external access

In the company's settings, open External tools, turn the connection on, choose which sources it can reach and copy the server URL.

    https://mcp.lemonado.io/mcp
  3. 3

    Create a token in Lemonado

In External tools, open your connection's guide, choose n8n, pick an expiry and click Generate Token. Copy it.

  4. 4

    Add the MCP Client Tool

In your workflow, add an AI Agent node, then add an MCP Client Tool under its tools. Use node version 1.1 or later; version 1 only speaks SSE.

  5. 5

    Configure it

Set the endpoint to the server URL, the transport to HTTP Streamable (pick it yourself on node version 1.1, which defaults to SSE) and authentication to Bearer Auth. Create a Bearer Auth credential and paste the raw token, without a "Bearer " prefix.

  6. 6

    Test and save

Test the connection, save the workflow and ask the agent about your data.

  7. 7

    Ask n8n about Mixpanel

Try "Every morning at 8, check yesterday's Mixpanel numbers and post anything unusual to #marketing." Or ask: "Did a key event drop?" or "Which campaigns brought active users?"

Good to know

  • If the MCP Client Tool only shows an SSE Endpoint field, it's the version 1 node: replace it with a newer one. Keep the /mcp URL and choose HTTP Streamable.
  • Regenerating a token in Lemonado invalidates the old one, so update n8n when you do.

What can n8n do with Mixpanel?

n8n's AI Agent reads your Mixpanel data on a trigger or a schedule, then posts, logs or files the result in the next node.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, through Lemonado. Connect your Mixpanel project in Lemonado, add Lemonado as an MCP Client Tool on an n8n AI Agent node, and n8n can find where onboarding loses people with your live data.

Yes. Mixpanel's official MCP server is hosted, so n8n can use it too. It covers Mixpanel only. Lemonado covers Mixpanel plus your ad platforms, GA4 and the rest of your stack in one connection, so n8n can answer questions across them.

Use Test step on the MCP Client Tool. A 401 means the token expired or was regenerated, so paste a new one into the Bearer credential. In Lemonado, check that Mixpanel is connected and External tools is on for the company. If events look short, check you picked the right project and data region, and that your signup code sends UTM properties to Mixpanel.

Yes, if both are connected in Lemonado. One connection reaches every source you allow, so you can ask things like "Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn spend last month next to Mixpanel users from each who were still active after 30 days."

MCP is included in Lemonado's paid plans and in the free trial, so you can try it before you pay.
